UW Ranger Farming Possible?
Before u say "use search nooob"
I did find things since trapper, duo famine, Earth tank with sandstorm
Nuker
and soone
The only one i really know that works its trapping wich i consider very boring and timespending...
Not really interested in duos so famine is out!
Wat about those r/e build that could work?
i tryed them and puff 15k spent on failed trips to underworld...
I would like to know if there is anymore way's to do it and if someone know a way to do it with the r/e build could give me some tips or something..
I would really appreciate
Azora

The only solo Ranger build that I know of is the now defunct UW Solo Trap. It died when EW was nerfed. So the answer to your question is, probably none exists for a solo Ranger.

Buzz! Wrong.
You can kill everything with R/Me like before without the use of any spirits, but considering the OP does not like the idea as it can be time consuming...here are some smite only farming options.
R/x Smite Trapping
[skill]serpent's quickness[/skill][skill]dust trap[/skill][skill]flame trap[/skill][skill]barbed trap[/skill][skill]spike trap[/skill][skill]troll unguent[/skill][skill]storm chaser[/skill][skill]whirling defense[/skill]
Template Code: OgATcZMnnA5Jf5Kv5A44CHA
Video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XO9h0eVBNbk
R/Me Solo Famine
[skill]famine[/skill][skill]sympathetic visage[/skill][skill]Ancestor's Visage[/skill][skill]ether signet[/skill][skill]storm chaser[/skill][skill]troll unguent[/skill][skill]illusion of weakness[/skill][skill]physical resistance[/skill]
Template Code: OgUUE4RdJ8OlPRgHMudc8NggkAA
R/E UW Nuking
[skill]whirling defense[/skill][skill]armor of earth[/skill][skill]fire attunement[/skill][skill]meteor shower[/skill][skill]Savannah heat[/skill][skill]bed of coals[/skill][skill]flame djinn's haste[/skill][skill]glyph of concentration[/skill]
If you have EoTN I HIGHLY recommend Great Dwarf Armor PvE skill over Armor of Earth. You will need to change the attributes in the template as I have given the GDA version.
Template Code:OgYTkGFfZS4gVEXAYgsKnpsKZAA
R/Rt VwK
I have not been bothered to try it out as I'm to busy, but other R/Rt builds have been made and work for UW so it is highly likely this works. I'll leave the code anyway.
Template Code: OggjchYaITWMEP0kHHUM/a+GbHA
Have fun.

So if you wanted to farm the uw with your ranger, but you think trapping is boring, this may interest you
Here is the build:
R/E:
[skill]Storm Chaser[/skill][skill]Stone Striker[/skill][skill]Stoneflesh Aura[/skill][skill]Sandstorm[/skill][skill]Glyph of Concentration[/skill][skill]Earthquake[/skill][skill]Aftershock[/skill]
Optionnal Slot:
Troll ungent
Edge of extinction (in this case, drop WS by 1, put the points in beast mastery, and get a minor rune)
Wilderness: 12+1+3
Earth: 12
Any +20%enchant weapon, that's all you need, all other mods are up to you.
An earth staff is best, since you can wand dying nightmares to death and have a 20% enchant on it.
You recognize the build? Yeah the Ele farming one. Well there is not much difference. You have more armor, get +5 energy on each hit (granted you remember to maintain storm chaser), that's it.
The last skill was troll ungent during our tests, but you don't need it as long as stoneflesh aura is up. The kill chain is fast enough so you don't have to recast it normally.
I don't know if it's faster than the ele one or warriors, or whatever. This is mainly for the people who want to farm ectos with their rangers.
Some useful infos:
- Keep Stoneflesh aura up at all time when fighting. You won't last long without it.
- The kill chain is Sandstorm, Earthquake, Aftershock.
You could use skills like Dust trap before you agro so you blind foes, but I'm not sure it wouldn't cause scatter...
- You don't use expertise (which doesn't apply on spells anyway), your energy management is Storm Chaser combined with Stone Striker. Remember to keep them up.
- You don't fight Aatxes. Only Grasping Darknesses, and Smite crawlers. During our tests we skiped the Coldfire Nights, therefore I can't tell you if you can survive them. Troll ungent may be usefull in this case. I don't know. If you happen to try, please leave your experience.
- If a dying nightmare pops up, wand it to death.
- Use your glyph before aggroing graspings, to avoid interruptions.
- If you go with EoE, in the first chamber, place your spirit behind Benton and aggro the group on the left first. Then move on the 2 groups on the right and place your spirit by the left stairs.
- Additionnal infos can be found in this thread:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...100360&page=22
It seems that The.D0pefish had the same idea before my friend, and he posted that in another thread. there is some useful notes in the following discution, so have a look.
- Have fun!

The setup you need is pretty much 20% Enchant weapon (totem axe) and a stance shield. Radiant armour works but I prefer Sentry for the smites, if you got both swap to sentry when you reach the smites. Of course you can still do the whole run with radiant.
Chamber
Tip: Before you take the quest from the lost soul, you can check and get rid of any nightmare spawns that are around which can sometimes hinder your run.
How:
With the use of storm chaser, you can run up the stairs (like how you lure the graspings) to the Aatxe's and run back down away from them. Doing this will spawn any nightmares that are at the top of the stairs, so you can get rid of them before taking out of graspings.
1.
As soon as you enter, cast Illusion of Weakness and heal up with troll.
2.
Place famine in a safe place, generally away from where you will lure the graspings.
3.
Cast Either SV or AV on yourself and with the use of storm chaser, quickly run up the stairs and lure the grasping group. Best to lure 1 group at a time as it is generally safer, but 2 can be done with the risk of error being much higher.
4.
Once you have lured them and are back down the stairs, place Physical resistance up and cast troll unguent.
5.
When SV or AV is about to run out, cast the other Visage, keeping a chain of energy drain going. Keep using Troll Unguent when possible and safe to, as you must keep a visage on you at all time with graspings.
Smites
There is little so write, just place famine in a safe place and run into the group with physical resistance and illusion of weakness on. Just keep chaining SV and AV on you and keep using troll unguent till they die.
I could probably make a clear video on how to do this...hmm. *scratches chin*

You could run a 600ranger, with hero as smite, with serpents quickness, melandru's and pain inverter. I bet you could could clear the UW. (perhaps run the mountains, when obsidians are close together, pain-inverter sometimes isn't enough.)

I've used this Build a few times trapping Ataxes and have been Successfull only once so thats why i dont use it anymore Although i do use it to HM trap Mountain Trolls which is getting really really boring i need to find something new in HM to trap .....ataxes kill me in 2 hits so i dont like using this build there anymore the one time i did use it though i got an ecto gladly it was just enough for the trips i have made so i didnt really lose any money but didnt gain much either

i tryed the build of Turbobusa a long time ago and it works great but risky you gotta know when to use the gylph because you will die most of the time being dazed. but it's a great and very fast ranger build for doing uw (got a r9 storm bow from chest with this build )
i tryed the famine build to but it's very risky...
but i'm sure now that we have a vid thx to being it will be way easier to learn because it ain't so easy, well not to me, to place famine without the ghraspings coming.

i have used the R/N touch build with greater conflag, but i always seem to mess up on the stupid grasping pulls. so many times the aataxe come too, or if i move back to lose the aataxe agro, the grasping spot the spirit and take it out.
i did make it to the smite crawlers and coldfire nights once, cleared everything, so it works well there. if youre better than me at the pulling, i say its the best one, pretty quick and not too boring
